Thesis Project for RCA MA Environmental Architecture, 2023
By Design Masters Thesis exploring how the design, and desires, of scientific irrigation produced vast agricultural space within the British Occupation of the Punjab (modern- day India, Pakistan and Kashmir). The project moved between the archival substrate - the documents and papers that produced engineering interventions - and the geologic substrata to show how contemporary environmental harm is propagated by historic colonial infrastructure and now-disproven attitudes towards geology and water management. This research was used to investigate the Zira Ethanol plant polution, an ongoing site of protest within the Indian state of Punjab.
